Beware of this email scam that's targeting Metamask users
The email scam targets Metamask users with a bait and switch scheme. The scammer poses as a Metamask representative and offers to upgrade the user's Metamask account to a premium account for a fee. However, once the user agrees to the upgrade, the scammer disappears and the user is left with a fraudulent account.
Protect yourself from the Metamask verification email scam
If you receive an email from "metamask.io" or similar that requests your personal Metamask verification code, do not provide it to the sender.
Instead, delete the email and any attachments. If you have already provided your Metamask verification code, do not use it again. You can change your Metamask password in the Metamask app.
